Dr. Robert McElroy is a business leader and entrepreneur in technology, transportation, energy, manufacturing, real estate and consulting. He is recognized for pragmatic thinking, crisp decision making and constructive contributions to executive teams. His goal orieted focus is analytical. He holds several patents and is an instrument rated private pilot. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, National Eagle Scout Association and Quiet Birdmen.
Dr. McElroy has 40 years of broad experience in the automotive industry. He helped to work his way through college as an auto mechanic at Rosenthal Chevrolet in Arlington, VA. For several years in the 1980’s he worked with General Motors Corporation as a Technical Staff Instructor primarily dealing with engine computer controls and vehicle safety. He was the only Ph.D. in his division of GM. He is a Triple Master ASE Technician for Automotive, Heavy Truck, and Body & Paint. He was inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame in 1986.
He was a participant in the Motor Vehicle Safety Research Advisory Committee (MVSRAC) whch evolved into the prestigious NHTSA Event Data Recorder Working Group.
He is active with advanced EDR and black box projects in the United States and Europe. He is also active with his automotive forensic consulting company.
